Fite is a powerful new Irish American trio featuring Pat Mangan (fiddle), Pádraig Rynne (concertina) and Johnny Cuomo (guitar and vocals) — three musicians whose careers have taken them across some of the world’s biggest stages before coming together to reconnect with the roots of acoustic Irish music.

The name Fite (Pronounced fi-cha) comes from the Irish language, meaning “woven” or “intertwined,” reflecting the trio’s shared musical journey and the blending of Irish and American folk traditions at the heart of their sound.

Between them, the members of Fite have toured and recorded internationally with productions and artists including Riverdance, NOTIFY, Bill Whelan, Moya Brennan, Rhiannon Giddens and many of the most respected names in Irish traditional and contemporary folk music. Their collective experience spans world tours, Broadway productions, major festivals and collaborations across folk, jazz and contemporary music.

County Clare concertina virtuoso Pádraig Rynne is recognised as one of the most innovative musicians in contemporary Irish music, known for pushing the boundaries of tradition through bands such as NOTIFY. Brooklyn-based fiddler Pat Mangan, a two-time All-Ireland champion, has performed in more than 30 countries and appeared with Riverdance on Broadway, while Johnny Cuomo has become a central figure in New York’s Irish and American folk scene through his distinctive guitar style, singing and long-standing collaborations with leading traditional musicians.

Together, Fite strips everything back to the essential connection between melody, rhythm and song. Their music is energetic, intimate and deeply rooted, combining virtuosic instrumental interplay with a contemporary edge shaped by decades of touring and collaboration.

Fite’s debut album is currently in production and will be released in 2027.
